How to Install WordPress Blog on Siteground Hosting- Complete Guide

Siteground is one of those web-hosting company which I started using recently for one of my projects and so far I’m really pleased with the features and performance. What I like the most about Siteground is their customer support, which is par excellence. Specially for Hostgator users who are tired of their slow tech support, Siteground is the best alternate hosting for you. They offer free migration from your existing hosting.
In this guide I will be sharing how you can install WordPress on Siteground in few simple steps. Siteground offers standard cPanel, so getting started with Siteground would be easier for you. Once you are done signing up for Siteground, simply login to your Siteground account area and click on access cPanel to start the process of installing WordPress.

Installing WordPress blog using Softaculous on Siteground:

Siteground offers Softaculous which makes it easier for any non technical user t0 install WordPress or any other script in minutes. Now, without wasting any more time, lets look at the process to install WordPress on Siteground.
In your Siteground cPanel, look for Auto installers and click on WordPress. This is a direct link to Softaculous WordPress installer.

On the next page, you will see the option to Install WordPress. You can also see the latest version of WordPress being installed by Softaculous and release date for the same. This is just for the info, now click on Install to get started.

Clicking on Install will bring up the screen where you need to add details about your WordPress installation. Most of the steps are self explanatory and I would recommend you to not use www, as having www will increase the length of your URL. (In case if you have any question regarding this step, feel free to ask me via comment).
Note: Under admin account section, make sure that email address is a working email. Also note down your username and password in a notepad.

What I liked the most about Siteground WordPress installer is, they have taken great care of the security of WordPress. They install Limit login plugin by default, use custom username instead of “Admin” username for login, and have a table prefix. These are some of the standard security measures and having it at the time of installation is beneficial for your blog security.
Click on Next and your WordPress blog will be installed on Siteground hosting within minutes. You will see a success screen as shown below:

That’s it, now go to yourdomain.com/wp-admin (Replace yourdomain with actual domain name) to login to your WordPress admin dashboard.  In your dashboard area, you would notice an option for Supercacher, which is an exclusive WordPress cache solution for Siteground users. This is one reason that I have started using Siteground, because it let me enjoy the power of Varnish in shared hosting. For the same thing, other hosting like WPEngine cost at least 10X of Siteground pricing.
The only thing which you need to do here is; enable Supercacher. Go to Supercacher settings in your WordPress dashboard and enable Dynamic caching. (See screenshot):

Similarly you can also enable memcache for your WordPress site. This is useful for those WordPress site which are dealing with heavy database queries. You can learn more about enabling memcache on your hosting account here.
