Google lowers app pricing in 17 more countries, after India

Google lowers app pricing in 17 more countries, after India The Google Play Store is Android's dedicated app hub and includes a flurry of paid as well as free applications. The frequency of paid app purchases in India was quite low with their original pricing, which led to Google slashing them to as little as Rs 10, down from Rs 60 in most cases.
Unsurprisingly, this was a big hit with the Indian masses and meant that a lot of customers were finally willing to purchase apps via the Play Store, rather than looking for free versions. Following the success of this model, Google has now decided to launch a similar program in 17 more countries where paid app purchases are deemed to be low.

In some of these countries, the prices have more than halved, which should no doubt make it a very exciting proposition for the local users.

Google has also offered developers the means to lower the prices of their apps via the Developer Console, so those who are yet to make the changes can do so right away.

The countries that are seeing the change include Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Hungary, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine and Vietnam. You can find the old minimum app prices as well as the latest pricing of apps in these countries from Google's official page below.
