OnePlus Introduces Extended Service Plans in India For The OnePlus X.

In a move which will be welcomed by most OnePlus Mobile users, the company has launched the extended service plan for its third phone in the country – the OnePlus X. We earlier saw the same plans being introduced for the OnePlus 2, and it is good to see the plan being introduced for the mid-range X as well.
OnePlus has two plans in this regard, namely the B2X On-Guard and the B2X On-Guard Plus. These are quite similar in nature to the B2X plan which was originally launched for the OnePlus 2, and in this article, I’ll be talking a little about the details of these two plans.

B2X ON-GUARD PLUS

The On-Guard Plus plan covers all the defects which are included under the manufacturer’s warranty, for an additional year since the expiry of the original manufacturer’s warranty for the device. This also includes:

• Single window support by B2X and OnePlus.
• Covers defects included under manufacturer’s warranty for the OnePlus X.
• Free pick up and drop services.
• Direct support by authorized service centers.

The On-Guard Plus plan has to be purchased within 120 days of purchasing the OnePlus X, and the customer needs to register at B2X within 10 days of purchasing the plan itself. This plan costs Rs.699/-

B2X ON-GUARD

This plan is more focused on device repair in accidents. It offers the following features:

• Protection against liquid damage, accidental or physical damage.
• Valid only for the first year after purchase.
• Free pick up and drop services included.

The On-Guard plan has to be purchased within 10 days of purchasing the OnePlus X and the customer needs to register at B2X within 7 days of purchasing the plan itself. This plan costs Rs. 999/-

SIGNIFICANCE

OnePlus’ plans of offering extended warranty and repairs as add-on packages is much akin to the Mi Protect plan, which also offers similar add-on plans. For companies which don’t have widespread service centers, offering such services is a welcome boon, especially for people looking for spare parts or repairing their devices after accidents.
