How to Get to Know Your YouTube Fans
Wouldn't it be helpful to know who is watching your uploaded YouTube videos? Well, you can't find out specific names, but you can get a lot of very helpful demographic information. YouTube has a tool called Insight that lets you find out aggregate information about your viewers.
To use Insight, log into YouTube and click on one of your videos. On the right-hand side of the window, click on the button labeled Insight.

- Views: This shows approximately how many people view your video. It's broken down by day and country.
- Popularity: This compares your views against all other videos. It's also broken down by day and country.
- Discovery: This tells you how other people find your video. Do they wander in from related videos or are they finding it in search?
- Demographics: This tells you what the age range and gender of viewers.
- Hot Spots: This compares your video to other videos of the same length and tells you which spots lose and gain viewers. High points in a video may indicate that viewers are rewinding to play a section over again, and low points indicate viewers stop watching at that point relative to other videos.
